Flydubai Thursday launched its first direct flight to Tel Aviv, which is also the first scheduled commercial service between the Israeli occupation and Dubai. This came approximately two months after the normalization of ties between the United Arab Emirates and the occupying state.

Israeli occupation diplomat and spokesperson to the Arab media at the occupation's prime ministry Ofir Gendelman tweeted “PM Netanyahu will attend this morning the welcoming ceremony for the first @flydubai commercial flight that will arrive at Ben-Gurion International Airport,” adding, “these are the fruits of peace dear Emirati tourists, welcome to Israel!”

The airline will fly the route twice a day, and two Israeli cccupation airlines are expected to launch flights to and from Dubai next month. Etihad Airways, based in Abu Dhabi, announced that it will launch flights to Tel Aviv in March 2021.

The CEO of Flydubai Ghaith al-Ghaith previously said “The start of scheduled flights will contribute to economic development and create further opportunities for investment.”
